Raised in Mission, Texas, White holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He did post graduate work at both the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Dallas, and completed the education and testing requirements as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
Relocating from Ft. Worth, Texas in August of 2000, White resides in Georgetown with his wife Barbara. He has two children, both living in Texas.
White has spent 25 years as a senior executive in the consumer credit industry, representing Cash America International, Inc., a Ft. Worth-based international specialty finance company publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. White has been instrumental in developing both the marketing and the public and government relations departments.
Prior to Cash America, White spent 11 years in the oil field equipment industry, serving as Manager of North America for Hydril Company and World Wide Sales Manager for Mission Drilling Products, a division of TRW. Previously, White spent eight years as an investment broker with the investment houses of Blyth Eastman Dillon and Francis I. duPont.
Since moving to Georgetown in August of 2000, he has served on and chaired the Sun City Texas Association Governance Finance Committee. In May, 2009 White was elected to serve as one of four resident board members. Sun City is a community of over 10,000 residents. Additionally, he is involved with several local charities.
Since June of 2004, White has served as a board member on the Finance Commission of Texas, which is the oversight and policymaking body for the Texas Department of Banking, Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, and the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner. In March of 2009, he was named Chairman of the Commission by the Governor of Texas.
